We love to design beautiful spaces for fellow bloggers & creative entrepreneurs. We love to pour our heart and soul into what we do and share all we’ve learned with our sweet readers. We’re for the dreamers, the do’ers, the writers, the artists, the soul spillers, the kindness givers, the beauty seekers and just about every woman in between.
Simply put, we’re a blog design shop with affordability, beauty and ease-of-use in mind. Our goal is to provide you with beautiful, feminine blog designs that follow current trends and utilize the best functionality. We aim to make these affordable for everyone, and our passion is teaching you along the way to empower yourself and take charge of your own blog.
Your blog design should reflect you. It shouldn’t bust your budget or be overly complicated. It should be beautiful, simple and functional. Our templates span many design styles, from ultra soft and feminine to modern, sleek and edgy.
Chelsea Hibbard, Founder & Creative Director
Hello! I’m Chelsea. I’m a coffee snob by accident and a mama to four sweet peas. When I’m not changing diapers, stepping on legos or arguing about vegetables, I’m probably reading, writing, playing with code, designing graphics or kicking my feet up with the hubby. I’m madly in love with Jesus and unbelievably grateful for his grace. I believe in fierce, loyal friendships, spreading kindness and compliments, being crazy transparent and writing about it all on my own personal blog. The ocean is my lifeline. A pretty environment makes me feel at peace.
I’ve had a passion for marketing & branding for nearly ten years now. While studying public relations & advertising at the University of Kansas’ School of Journalism, I fell in love with all things marketing. Out of school, I worked at a newspaper designing advertisements for businesses, which is when I first began to get an understanding for design and, eventually, fell head over heels. In the ten years since, I’ve spent much of my free time reading every graphic design book I can get my hands on, watching hundreds of tutorials and taking a handful of design courses. Years (and hundreds of clients) later, I’ve gotten brave enough to call myself a graphic designer.
Megan Garwood, Web Developer
Megan is our WordPress developer (or magic maker, as I like to call her).
Her love affair with coding started many years ago: in middle school, she taught herself how to write HTML and CSS as a hobby. In high school, when she found out that people actually build websites for a living, she knew that that was what she wanted to do with her life. She studied Computer Science for two and a half years in college, then switched to a more focused major. Her bachelor’s degree is in Multimedia Design & Development with an emphasis on Web Design & Development; she graduated summa cum laude in summer 2013.
On a more personal note, she’s happily married to a man in the U.S. Air Force. They have one mischievous son, Wyatt, and recently moved to Alaska. In her spare time, she likes to cook, read, watch mindless TV, and play video games. She and her husband both enjoy hunting and fishing when they get the chance to go. She also has a borderline unhealthy obsession with horses (she’s a draft kinda girl), bows, and soda. You can find more of Megan’s work and writing over on megangarwood.com.
In January of 2013, a little shop called Bella Lulu Ink quietly tip toed onto the Etsy scene. I opened up shop with a humble little selection of Blogger templates and just about zero expectations. I’d just had my third baby and, deep in mama mode, was looking for a creative outlet. A few months after opening, we sold our house in Kansas City, packed up and moved our little family of five to Greenville, South Carolina. Between a big move and medical battles with our children, the shop didn’t get much attention the rest of the year.
2014 was the year that we survived. We were adjusting to our cross-country move and I was pregnant with our fourth baby, who came in October. We did our best to fulfill orders…and that’s about all she wrote. We implemented some processes that allowed the shop to run much more effortlessly than ever before (hello, instant downloads) so that I could spend some time sulking about being 42 weeks pregnant and then snuggling my squishy newborn.
In 2015, our little business began to grow. Armed with every business book imaginable, I brainstormed all year. I was ready for a rebrand, as I hadn’t launched my business properly or given any thought to my business name when I began. My mom and I hatched an idea for a new business model, and during the process, landed on the name Get Polished. While our business venture never came to fruition, the name stuck. Our sales were growing and we played around with outsourcing different parts of our lives to keep up.
2016 has been our biggest growth year to-date. While it’s meant many late nights and loads of caffeine, big things happened in 2016! We re-launched as Get Polished in January, with a big collection of all new Blogger templates. We partnered up with Megan to bring WordPress themes to the shop. In the process, we created this fancy new website you’ve got your eyeballs on. We’re already dreaming up all the ways that 2017 will be BIGGER and BETTER.
Welcome. We are so thankful that you’re here.
